I remember playing Ron in the knockouts several years ago although he beat me I did enjoy his company and watching his distinctive shoulder twitch before shots. Harry Alcock and Roy West had some interesting stories about Ron. Ron RIP. The first qualifier was played in near blizzard conditions however it did not dampen the spirits and determination of 24 competitors. The winner was Phil Cottis. Mr Captain attended the meal to do the presentation. It was good to see Jim Gordon who is near match fit and new member Bernard Carroll.
