Cheadle Golf Club has switched to Utility Warehouse for electricity, telephone and broadband services. The main reason for changing was to reduce costs, but other factors related to billing and quality of customer service also featured.
The April 2009 edition of Which Magazine contains the results of a survey of utility providers. In this the Customer Satisfaction score for Utility Warehouse is 83%. This compares with 44% for ScottishPower, 39% for E.ON, 37% for British Gas and 30% for NPOWER.
Why didn't the Club switch to Utility Warehouse for gas as well?
The Golf Club isn't connected to the natural gas network. Instead it uses propane which is supplied by Shell in tankers. Unfortunately, Utility Warehouse doesn't offer a propane service.
The Golf Club has also entered into an agreement with Utility Warehouse by which the Club gets a small commission for any member who switches to Utility Warehouse and quotes reference number: B86209
Utility Warehouse do not promise to be the lowest cost supplier but they guarantee that their gas prices will always be lower than British Gas, and that, in the North West, their electricity prices will always be lower than E.ON.
